A Robust Fractional-Order Control Scheme for PV-Penetrated Grid-Connected Microgrid

This article presents a new cascaded control strategy to the power flow in renewable-energy-based microgrid operating grid-connected mode. The model is composed of an AC utility grid interfaced with multi-functional interactive converter (MF-GIC) acting as grid-forming converter, photovoltaic (PV) power-generation system grid-feeding distributed generation unit, and various sensitive/non-sensitive customer loads. proposed consists fractional order PI (FO-PI) controller smoothly regulate between grid, customers. exploits advantages FO (Fractional Order) calculus improving steady-state dynamic performance under conditions during uncertainties. To tune parameters controller, recently developed evaporation-rate-based water-cycle algorithm (ERWCA) utilized. tested show its efficacy over conventional controller. result shows that effective robust maintaining all within limits conditions, including
